കടനാട് വലിയകുന്നേൽ കുടുംബത്തിൽ 8 മക്കളിൽ ഒരാളായ ജോസ്, പുലിക്കുന്നേൽ മുട്ടം ശാഖയിലെ ദേവാസിയായുടെ മൂത്ത മകൾ എൽസിയെ 14-06-1971 ൽ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു. രണ്ട് ആൺമക്കൾ , സിജോയും ഡിജോയും.ഇവർ രണ്ടു പേരും വിവാഹിതരാണ്. ജോസ് കഠിനാധ്വാനിയും , നാട്ടുകാർക്കെല്ലാം ഏറെ പ്രിയങ്കരനും, നല്ല ഒരു സഹായിയും, ആയിരുന്നു. രണ്ടു മാസത്തോളം സ്ട്രോക്ക് വന്ന് ചികിത്സയിൽ കാരിത്താസിലും പിന്നീട് കോട്ടയം മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലും , അവസാന നാളിൽ പാലാ കാർമൽ ആശുപത്രിയിലും ആയിരുന്നു. 07-06 -2025ൽ മരണമടഞ്ഞു. ജൂൺ 8 ന് കടനാട് പള്ളി സെമിത്തേരിയിൽ സംസ്കരിച്ചു.
